Does your band want to compete for a chance to open for a national
headliner in front of hundreds of Nirvana fans from across the world in
Kurt Cobain's hometown? If you're a band from Grays Harbor or Pacific
counties in Washington state, you can.
Here's how:
Send an e-mail to kurtcobainmemorialcommittee@gmail.com Include a link to your myspace page (or other music-related page) and a little bit about your band.
That's it.
The format has changed a bit from last year. This year, we will be having a first round and
a final round. The first round will be held May 30 in Aberdeen. Just
like last year, each band will be allowed to play two songs on backing
gear we will provide. However, you must bring your own instruments.
Your performance will be judged and crowd voting will play a large part
in the final decision.
The top bands will move on to the Road to Lounge
Acts finals, scheduled for the end of June at a TBD site. The Road
to Lounge Acts winner will earn a paid opening slot at Lounge Acts
2009, scheduled for Oct. 17, and will be included in all publicity
related to the show.
There are fewer slots for the opening round this year, so time is of the essence. Submit now or miss out!
